What birth control did you use after baby?

My baby is 15 wks. I'm bf'ing and so far have not gone on any type of bc. We use condoms and since we don't do it very often (hello, we're exhausted:) I figured I'd just wait until I stopped bf'ing to go on anything. What did other mothers use when they were still bf'ing? My doc. told me the mini-pill is only 75-85% effective. That scares me! I was reading about IUD' s but they scare me, too.

  • My doc put me on the shot. It was one of 3 choices she gave me that I could use while nursing.

  • I'm on the Nuva Ring, and I love it.
The Shot made me gain copious amounts of weight plus crazy mood swings, t
    he patch gave me rashes,
the pill...well, i was on the pill before, and the end result is my one year old daughter! lol

But the ring I have had no side effects, no mood swings, no weight gain, nothing. You put it in, leave it for 3 weeks, take it out to have your period (but you don't HAVE to, you can do what is called continuous use where instead of leaving it out for a week, you put a new one in right away)
Its great. I can't feel it, my SO can't feel it. Its just good all around.

  • Im on implanon, its a tiny implant in ur upper arm the size of a matchstick and it lasts 3 years. The only thing I dont like about it is you might gain an extra 10-15lbs. Otherwise you just go back after 3 years and have it taken out, etc.
