Can you still get the MMR in seperate shots?

I have heard it was no longer being offered.

Note: i dont care if you got it in one shot or seperate shots. I just need to know if it is still being offered or not. NO BICKERING about vaccine issues. i dont want to hear it. thank you.

  • No. Merck stopped making the vaccine separately but will start making it again in 2011. I'm waiting on it so I can get my kids vaccinated with the separate shots.

    I received official word from a Merck representative that the company plans to resume production of the separate M-M-R component vaccines. They anticipate these becoming available in 2011 (no actual month specified).

  • I think you still can. You just need to ask around because some doc do not like to separate the shots because they think parents will not come back for the rest.

  • They need to be special ordered; be sure to get preservative free vaccines.
