can i still get pregnant at the age of 40?

im already 40 years old, and im trying to conceive a baby girl....

  • I would say if you still have regular cycles and have sex, then I see no reason why there would be a problem. Give it a try and see what happens. Now the problem you may have is the gender selection. Don't get your heart set on a girl. That is something you have no control over! Have fun!

  • My SIL just delivered her second girl YESTERDAY...and she's turning 41 in October (hubby is 52)! She had to have a c-section with this she was a week past her due date, and the baby was 9 pounds 10 ounces!!!

  • I DID I DID....I THOUGHT I WAS GOING THROUGH MENOPAUSE MY PERIODS WERE SO IRREGULAR.well surprise.i wasnt and at 50 still havent.i feel really old at her school but its all good...

  • Oh, yes!!! I am 42 and have an 11 month old. Quite a surprise since my first two were difficult to concieve. I guess some of us get more fertile as we age....go figure!
    Expect lots more tests when you are over 40.

  • If you are still having a period you can get pregnant. However past the age of 36 you have an increased risk of having a child with Down Syndrom.
