Psycho fans chase Twilight star into oncoming traffic

So at what point do they need to start prosecuting crazed fans/papparazi/etc for these kinds of things?

The guy is ok I guess, but all over the net, psychotic Twilight fans are freaking out that someone hurt "their Edward" and don't even realize that 1) it was people JUST like them and 2) it's an actor, he's not Edward.

This isn't as bad as Princess Di, but it could've been. The only reason it wasn't is timing and dumb luck. This wasn't even press, just horny housewives and teenagers. If he had been hurt, should they have faced jail time?

  • Yes they should go to jail. I still don't get everyone's obsession with him.

  • 2) it's an actor, he's not Edward.

Thank you!!!  Why can't more people think like you?!  I see him as a person, not his character... and I bet he gets REALLY annoyed after awhile hearing all these girls screaming "I LOVE YOU EDWARD!!!"     I'm waiting for the day when he turns around and screams back "My name is ROBERT!"

  • Lol, last time I had a tv crush like that it was david boreanez, (as in Angel from buffy). . .

I thought you were supposed to outgrow that stuff, along with acne and cyber stalking (or calling your crush every 12 minutes and hanging up on their machine, as we did before the internet was a THING)

People really need to get a life, and yes, all actions should have consequences.

  • I dont like twilight period and I do not have crushes on actors.. havent since my EARLY 20's... I cannot understand the obsession either.

Jail time yes because I see it as harassment and putting someone in danger.

  • Is everyone ok, though? ( I forgot to ask earlier) I can't stand to hear of people, famous or not, getting injured by a mob crowd.

Answer by brandyj at 6:20 PM on Jun. 19, 2009

  • Yes, if he was hurt, they all should have been arrested. Michelle Phiffer said a quote that I think is fantastic. "The only difference between a stalker and a paparazzi is a camera." I think it's a disgusting profession and I can't for the life of me understand why people become OBSESSED with actors anyway. Go live your own life!

  • I thought most of these crazed fans were 'teens' and if so where are there parents? IDK I live in the suburbs so it wasn't like we were ever just walking willy nilly down town; and I'm thinking this guy wasn't in a residential neighborhood...??
