will the bbq sauce spoil?

i made some home made bbq sauce for fathers day and i put it in mason jars and in the fridge on wednsday night. this morning (friday) i took it out to give to my husband to give to his dad and he of course forgot it on the counter at home. is it going to go bad? it will have sat out on the counter from around 9am to 5pm.

  • Depends on what's in it. We own a bbq sauce business and we don't put any preservatives in ours. Very rarely do we put it in the fridge. Ours has vinegar in it so it acts as a preservative. We do put on the bottle refridgate after opening (legal reasons) but when we have it at home we don't. I would say as long as it was in the fridge beforehand and it's not excessivly hot in your house it would be fine.

  • ok it does have apple cider vinegar and white vinegar in it and its not too hot in here and theres no meat or anything in it oh and theres some bourbon too so that would help to preserve it right? thanks!
