We're still waiting to hear back about the rescue kittens we've filled applications for.

Last Monday we filled out an application to adopt one or two kittens. I called on Wednesday (the pet store working with the adoption agency) to see if there was any word as we'd like to let our kids come and pick the cats. We've decided to take 2 as per their suggestions. The girl at the store said that they haden't been able to contact the adoption lady yet. She finally did and told us we were given the wrong application to fill out (they work with a few rescue agencies) so we went back and filled one out. The kids picked and named their kittens and we still haven't heard anything. They are having a hard time contacting the lady from the agency.
Has anyone else had this issue with adopting a rescue animal?

  • A lot of those agencies are dealing with lot of applications and sometimes it can take awhile. I would call back in a couple of days. Too bad you arn't in my area. I have 3 kittens up for adoption with no takers :(

  • It could be they are taking a variety of applications over a period of time. A sort of "open application period". The shelter will review them and choose the families who will be able to adopt.
You may want to call and ask when you can expect an answer.

  • There are 5 kittens and there have been 2 other's interested. One hasen't filled an application yet. The girls who work in the store are all trying to get ahold of the lady. Apparently she's horrible at returning messages. She was out rescuing gerbles on wednesday.
