  • They say you shouldn't feed cereal till around 4 months. I had to feed my DD about every 3 hours, sometimes more to fill her up.

  • You can feed 1 teaspoon of cereal for every 4 ounces of formula, you don't even need a feeder bottle to do this, it will still look thin, but should be satisfactory enough to fill him up. I started feeding mine at 3 weeks because they couldn't get full.

  • Giving him cereal is going to give him fewer calories, making him more hungry later. It will fill him at first, sure...but because of the lack of calories, he's more likely to wake later even more ravenous.

The other thing is giving him milk. He needs to have the calories in breast milk or formula! Not regular milk! So few calories compared to what he needs, of course he is still hungry, not to mention under nourished! He's not getting all the nutrition he needs!

Put him back on formula or breastmilk and just give him as much as he wants! As many ounces as often as he needs. HE knows when he's hungry and when he's full!

  • Just give your baby more oz at a time and more often. You shouldn't be giving any foods at this age. Cereal is just empty calories, a filler, and you'll be cheating your baby out of what they need to grow and be healthy. It's normal for a baby to want to eay every 2-3 hours and sometimes more often during growth spurts

  • Ask your child's doctor. A 4 week olds tummy is very tiny so, it probably wouldn't be good for him to have cereal. Just feed a half an ounce or an ounce more at each feeding.
