If you have hypothyroidism is your period irregular?

So far, since I've been diagnosed, mine has been pretty steady, but later on can the symptoms of hypothyroidism surface more? This month it was not, but I'm waiting a couple of days to see if I get it late. I've been really tired too, and if your thyroid is running low can it cause your cycle to throw off some?

  • Once you find the right dose of thyroid hormone to take you really shouldn't have any problems, but if you are not being treated there are lots of possible symptoms including irregualr periods. Most people don't have all the possible symptoms, so you might not ever have irregular periods because of hypothyroidism.
