how can i stop from having to much milk?

dose anyone know how to stop from having to much milk i breastfeed but my baby doesn't want to stop breastfeeding hes 21 months old n every time i try to take it away from him he cries like if these no tomorrow and i would let her but everyone in the house can stand it and my husband has to wake up at 4 in the morning to go to work...so maybe if i can stop from milk coming in maybe he will see i don't have no more milk?i also tried to put garlic,Chile,coffee,tape...etc to make him from stop but nothing has worked....HELP PLZ

  • The problem is that you're cold turkey weaning. Drop ONE feeding per week, no faster. That will diminish your supply and he'll be more cooperative.

  • Ditto gdiamante. Make sure the last feedings you drop are the most important ones (usually nap and bedtime). Try the "no cry sleep solution" to help with the night time feedings. You could try just night weaning too instead of fully weaning. Offer a sippy with water instead of breast when they wake up. You may need to enlist DH the first couple nights so try it when he doesn't have to go to work in the morning. Kudos for making it this far nursing too!
