  • Here are some healthy, quick-to-prepare foods my 17 month old eats:

    - Frozen chicken nuggets or tenders cut into little pieces (10 minutes to bake)
    - Frozen mixed vegetables (5-10 minutes to steam)
    - Fresh fruit cut into small pieces
    - Fruit cups, either as a snack or part of a meal
    - Dry cereal or broken-up animal crackers mixed into vanilla pudding or yogurt
    - Broken-up granola or cereal bars
    - Hot dogs (sliced length-wise then cut & skinned) with baked beans or mac & cheese
    - Pasta in finger-food sizes
    - Chef Boyardee (he needs a bath afterwards!)
    - Gerber Graduates vegetable crackers with cheese, either chunks or ripped-up slices

My son has been refusing grilled cheese sandwiches, scrambled eggs and applesauce, but they're great options for toddler lunches & snacks.

Also if we want fast food we go to Chick Fil A and split a 12-piece nuggets and large fruit cup. Pretty healthy for fast foo

  • I always try to have leftovers for all my kids. I make extra batches of spaghetti, soup, etc. My son loves salads if I put gold fish in them. He also, amazingly, loves tuna sandwiches. When all else fails I make a nice peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a big glass of milk. Of course I use the peanut butter without added sugar and home-made jelly and sometimes bananas or apples.

  • These are a couple things that I can always make real quick and I always have the ingredients in the house (and they aren't unhealthy):

1).Bagel and cream cheese with a banana on the side (and a yogurt if he wants one)

2).Turkey and cheese sandwich with cuke slices and straberries on the side

3). Grilled cheese sandwich and apple slices with peanut butter on them
