potty & tantrums...???

my daughter, 18 months, throws a massive fit everytime I try to get her to sit on her potty. I would really like to start potty training but it is kinda hard to do when you have a toddlers kicking and hitting you. I make a big deal about the potty, I try to get her excited about it...nothing is working. She just doesnt seem to care about it at all. And it seems to make her really mad. Any ideas on how to get her to be comfortable with her potty?

  • Wait a while. Let her get comfortable on her own, if you try to force her the longer it will take and the harder it will be. Just keep the potty around and let her explore it on her own.

  • Wait.
Leave the potty in the bathroom but don't mention it.
Get a couple of storybooks about potty training and read them now and then.
Try again when you see signs of interest.
