  • How much you are dilated isn't really important. How much your are effaced usually says more as to how ready your body is for labor. You can be dilated to a 4 for 4 weeks!

To help ripen your cervix (soften it) you can place Evening Primrose Oil capsules directly on your cervix. You can use up to 5 capsules a day. Also having intercourse is helpful. The sperm has a hormone in it that helps to ripen the cervix the same way that EPO does. You should lay in bed for AT LEAST 30 minutes after having intercourse to give the sperm time to work. Female orgasm can also help and has been known to help a women dilate up to 2 more cms!!

If you want to really combine the effects have intercourse and then prop your hips up for a few minutes. While your hips are propped up have you husband or SO take a capsule and push it into the vaginal entrance as far as it will go. Leave your hips propped for another 5 minutes. Then sleep all night.
