  • I know it stems from the Korean war, where the US took the side of South Korea, helping to divide the Korean peninsula. Also from the trade sanctions and trade embargoes that have been put on Pyongyang both now and in the past. I believe this explains a little bit of why North Korea is taking the actions they are:

"If the U.S. imperialists start another war, the army and people of Korea will ... wipe out the aggressors on the globe once and for all," a dispatch from the official Korean Central News Agency said.

The warning came on the eve of the 59th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. The brutal fighting ended after three years in a truce in 1953, not a peace treaty, leaving the peninsula divided and in a state of war. The U.S. has 28,500 troops in South Korea to protect against an outbreak of hostilities.

So we are willing to back South Korea, and North Korea definitely sees this as a threat to them.

  • A lot of the reason that they hate us is because of what we did during the koren war....and i think they should hate us because of what we did.

  • BUT, if LIl Kim were to succeed, wouldn't he be "biting the hand that feeds him?!" I don't think China is too fond of them either threatening to destablilize the region and their economy. So who would he turn to for financial support?! I guess when you're an emotionally stunted "loony toon," you never think about the big picture.
