Baby proofing an entertainment center

Does anyone have a suggestion for baby proofing a glass entertainment center? It is probably 6-7 feet long, has three shelves and is full of equipment. My girl is cruising and besides keeping her away from it, I'm not sure how to make it safer. Has anyone used a gate or similar around something large like this? Seems like getting rid of it is the only option! Thanks

  • You could try a gate/fence system like the ones you see for puppies (jefferspets.com). They sell them at walmart in the baby section. You may have to buy multiple sets to put together to cover the area needed. Then you may want to fasten them to the wall so when she pulls up on the fence/gate she will not pull it down. You will also let her know that you do not want her near the entertainment center. Otherwise, maybe just put it in another room. If you are just worried about it falling over on her, get some metal fencing ties ( U shaped - assuming the stand has round posts) that you can bolt it to the wall with. You would want at least two, one for each side near the top and maybe one for the center. Talk to someone at Lowes. You can find these in the fence section and smaller ones in the electrical section.
