What kinds of vegitables can my niece eat while she is wearing braces? All crunchy food is a no no such as carrots, apples, and celery. What other healthy soft foods can she eat?

  • Wow..when my son was in braces we were told no hard candy no sticky foods but he at carrota, applea and celery on a regular basis. In fact he only broke one anchor, one time and that was because he got sucker punched in the mouth. Just what ever you caramel, toffee, chewy sticky anything. We also found the sonic care toothbrushed helped him do a much better job. Flossing was always a fight. His 'gift' after getting them off was a teeth whitening session to lighten the staining around the brackets and anchors.

  • She can eat apples as long as they are peeled and sliced. Carrots and celery should be ok, if in small pieces. Nothing caramel, no now and laters/taffy, no gum. NO doritos or tortilla chips that are pointy. Your niece should have gotten a list of No- no's from her ortho. Flossing is hard to do, unless you get floss threaders, they really help.
