How old was your child when you started giving them a "sippy cup"?

  • #1 and #3 were a year old. We cut out the bottle on their birthdays.
    My second child never took one. At 19 mths he went straight to a cup(ya, I wanted him off the bottle sooner but he wouldnt have it. He'd go without drinking anything the majority of the day rather than use a sippy cup or straw.)

  • They were all around 5-6 months. When they started baby food they started getting water (and occasionally watered down juice) with their meals. They were all drinking from them without help by 7 or 8 months.

  • Six months. Only water. he didn't start using it with out my help until eight or nine months tho.

  • We started doing a sippy around 6 months. DS is 10 months now and doesn't use a bottle at all, just a soft spout sippy. Over the next 2 months we will transition him to a hard spout sippy (he uses one sometimes, but doesn't like it much).

  • reg. cup at 4 months, sippy at 4.5. Jusy for fun though. She still likes a regular cup better.
