in pain when eating?

my 11 month old just got over a nasty head cold and is on amoxicillin. since yesterday, she's cried in pain whenever i've given her solids. doesn't matter what (hard, soft, etc). she takes her bottle fine, though. i don't see evidence of thrush, no open sores. she might be getting molars, but she never complained about teething before, even when she had four coming in at once. any ideas? we're going to the doctor later...

  • Well the molars may be a little more unconfortabe for her. Also a babies get older they find differernt ways to express there discomfort. Just be patient and keep trying. If she will drink her bottle make sure she is getting a lot of fluids and maybe try some popcycles.

  • I don't understand. A cold is a virus and Amoxicilin is an antibiotic. Antibiotics are worthless for viruses; they only treat bacterial infedtions.
