my 3 month old..

weighs 13 lbs.
is that average, overweight or underweight?

  • That's pretty much right at the 50% mark for a 3 month old. That means that half the babies her age weigh more and half weigh less.

    It is impossible to tell if she is overwieght or underweight from just that though. Her weight to height ratio is needed. And another important thing to look at is her growth curve. As long as she grows in a steady curve - both height and weight - she is fine, even if she is shorter than most other kids her age or far heavier than others.
    Don't look at the raw numbers - look at the ratio and her growth curves.

  • My daughter is 12 weeks old and will be 3 months next thursday. She weighs 14lbs 2oz, when she was born she weighed 7lbs 2oz.
