Blowing up the moon?

A friend of mine told me the other day that someone was going to send a missile to the moon a blow a chunk of the moon off to check it for water. She said she saw it on her local news broadcast. Apparently there is suppose to be a huge dust cloud that will be visible from earth. Anyone heard anything about this??

  • There was a miniseries on tv that started this past Sunday night. It is called "Impact." A big chunk gets knocked off the moon by an asteroid and it really screws things up!

I just don't like this idea at all.
