When do babies get teeth?

My son is going to be 7 months old soon and he doesn't have any teeth!!! I can't even see anything ready to pop through! Is this normal? I'm getting a little concerned...

  • it varies from child to child. My oldest cut four top theeth in one night at age 4.5 months then when she turned 8 months she did it on the bottom. My youngest didn't cut teeth until her seventh month and we knew weeks in advance one was coming in. Don't be surprised if diaper rash goes along with teething.

  • My son just got his at 9 months. His cousin started to get molars when he was 5 months. It just depends. My nephew only had 3 teeth at his first b-day.

  • It's normal. Some arrive with a tooth or two, some don't get any until after the first birthday.
