educational toy ideas for 6 months old

Any good toys for my lil 6 month old boy? Educational preferred

  • You don't actually have to buy a specific toy to make it educational. You can make almost anything educational. Like put a rattle or something half way under a blanket and see if he can find it. Then, when he does, put the whole thing under a blanket and let him find it. Stack blocks or stuff up and let him knock it over. Read books to him. Sit in front of him, roll him a ball and see if he will roll it back or push it back. There are many ways you can educate your child without buying toys.

  • my twins like things that "crackel". something that incorporates different textures and sounds when touched. maybe not educational, but developmental.

  • My son got a Leap Frog Learn 'n' Groove Music Table for Christmas when he was 6 months old, and he absolutely loves it. It has colors and opposites and ABC's and counting, and a music mode, of course. And he still plays with it at 2 years old.
