  • The Catholic Church is a world-wide church and so Masses in different places incorporate local customs. Most Catholics in the US are Latin Rite Catholics and are familiar with the New Order Mass. However Eastern Rite Catholics have a Divine Liturgy which is theologically the same as the Mass - but is ritualitically different than the Mass. But even at my own church different Masses have different feel. The Saturday night Mass is more young adult/teen Mass, the early Sunday Mass has more older people, the mid-morning Mass has more familes - so the music and other things reflect that a bit. There's everything from traditional Catholic Masses (in Latin) to Charismatic Catholic Masses to the Eastern Rite Divine Liturgies - all valid in the Catholic Church but quite different expereiences.
