Southern Old Wives Tale

When I was pregnant with my DD my grandmother told me "a woman is not suppose to watch scary movies because the baby will come out that way".I asked "what way"?She said"with killer instincts and they will look like the monsters in the movie"She claimed it was a southern old wives tale.I was LMAO because I never heard that before but my aunt sure was afraid to watch scary movies when she was pregnant and she loves scary movies.

Has anyone else heard this old wives tale???????????

  • :) No, I hadn't heard this one. I can see that cringing in fear from one of those movies might make the baby a bit tighter in the womb.... or even if this isn't so, that someone might think that it did, but coming out like a monster... nah.

  • I haven't heard that one, but I was told not to go outside and look at the lunar eclipse because "the baby will be born a lunatic" LOL, I went out and looked anyway!

  • Nope but this old guy ran at me in WalMart screaming that I was gonna 'flip' my sons liver if I kept throwing him up in the air. I laughed, threw him up again and said "there, I fliped it back."
