I picked a huge 5 gallon bucket of bing cherries. Now what do I do with them?

Any advice appreciated.

  • Make cherry salsa, or put them in pancakes or waffles. Take the pits out and blend them into smoothies. Make ice cream with them, cherry & chocolate chip ice cream is so good. I'd just eat them like that though. I love cherries.

  • Oh and I also thought of dehydrated them in a low temp oven, for an easy snack. And you can always give some to friends and neighbors!

  • I am an overeater so I would have a problem with eating them all. Whenever I got hungry instead of a meal I would eat the cherries.

  • Have a cherry pit spitting contest for the kids on your block!
    Bing cherries are too sweet for pie (IMO). You can use them to make fruit leather, fruit salad, dry them to throw in cereal or rice pudding, pit and freeze them for a taste of summer in the winter.
