Playdate question Need indoor activities!

I'm having a playdate on monday with my 3 boys and my friends three boys, i had planned for them to play outside, play on the bounce house swingset and maybe some water balloons but it looks like rain. :( I have no idea what to do with 6 kids inside?? Any ideas?

  • plan an art project. something that will work for all the ages like painting or cutting/tearing and pasting. maybe make some muffins or a simple snack and let the kids help. music and dancing is always fun. you could play simon says.

  • Build a city. Get a bunch of brown paper grocery bags (the kind without handles works best). Each kid gets three bags. They can put them either on end or on their sides and make each bag into a building. Then you put them together to make a city (and they drive their cars through the town, run into the buildings and knock 'em down if they're like mine).

My boys did a pet store, an Olive Garden (I cannot figure that out. We've been once.) and a pizza store! lol They like their dogs, their fish and their Italian food, apparently!

  • playdough works great with little kids if you have the table over an area with no carpet. depending on age board games, there is also coloring, get a big role of paper and have the kids trace each other, then color in the clothing and faces and hair.
