  • Easy on the Tuna Fish since it's high in mercury. Docs say it's ok to have 2 servings a week..no more than that.

  • Here is a pocket guide to fish safety: http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/walletcard.pdf
You can find guides to pesticides in produce and toxins in bodycare products (check out baby products before you buy) here: www.ewg.org
Focus your eating on real, whole foods: fruits, vegetables, whole grains (whole grain breads, brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat pasta, etc.) and legumes (beans, tofu, lentils, nut butters, etc.).

I have a ton of healthy, tasty, family and budget friendly recipes. I can list some; contact me for recipes.
Noodles & veggies with peanut sauce
    Veggie pot pie
    Lentil tacos
    Squashed macaroni
Sweet potato & black bean burritos
    Sloppy jojos (made with lentils)
    Italian stew
Mediterranean Vegetable Stew with Poached Eggs
    Veggie stew with dumplings (crockpot)
Southwest falafel (bean patties with avocado sauce)
Tofu "fish sticks" with sweet potato or acorn squash baked "fries"

  • No deli meats, cold hot dogs, alfalfa sprouts, raw eggs or things made with them, like mayo, caeser dressing, etc. Limit the seafood, no locally caught fish due to local contaminants, hmmm..that's it off the top of my head...

  • stay away from spicy foods because u will get heartburn like a wildfire. u can eat salads but u need to use light dressings. no hot sauce if u really like it. stay away from really greasy foods. and stay away from anything with acohol in it. no seafood if u can help it because it could make u sick. i think thats it if i remember anything else i will let u know.

  • I ate whatever I wanted. My doc just said to limit fish caught in Lake Michigan because of the mercury levels. I had to limit salty foods because I kept retaining water. I ate mayo on everything and ate hot dogs, lunch meat, eat. As a matter of fact, I went through a fried bologna sandwich kick. My son is just fine.

  • You should avoid lunch meats, deli meats, etc because of the very real possibility of getting listeria, which can lead to miscarriage or still birth. Better safe than sorry. No raw meats of any kind including fish in sushi, smoked seafood also because of listeria, raw eggs, soft or unpasteurized cheeses, unpasteurized milk or juices, and be sure to wash your fruits and veggies before you eat them because they could be contaminated with toxoplasmosis, which could cause premature birth, low birth weight, fever, jaundice, abnormalities of the retina, mental retardation, abnormal head size, convulsions, and brain calcification.
