How much does your dh and/or you make? and.... Do you receive any government assistance ?

My dh makes about $60.000.00 before taxes.

The only government assistance that we receive is Medicaid for my son who is disabled.

  • We were making about 40 a year but DH just got laid off today. We are not on assitance YET. But I am sure we will need some help for a short while with food. I work but only part time. So its going to be tight. So worried at the moment.

  • Right now we make between $18k and $22k depending on how much work. We receive no assistance. We also have no insurance. If business does not pick up that may have to change, but there are no jobs here and nobody buying houses so moving is not an option.

Your income makes you eligible for assistance. Why are you not receiving it?

  • We make around 24 thousand a year for a family of 4 and I have been turned down for assistance 2 times already. I think that it is different by state.

  • On paper, between my and DH we make 52,000 a year. We both manage a bar in a busy downtown area, so we make about 3,000 extra a month in tips. (sometimes more or less, depending on extra shifts, slow times, busy times, etc.)

We don't qualify for anything, except for the boys to get low cost chip. We have a nice amount of money left every month to put into savings, but we never know how long our jobs will last, so we try to be responsible with our money.
