Did you play with any sort of bugs when you were a child?

If so, tell me about it!

If you weren't afraid of bugs as a child, are you afraid of some of them now as an adult?

  • Yes, lol. There were always these caterpillars by my house and I loved them. I would even show off and let them crawl on my face. My mom thought it was disgusting, lol...but they were harmless. I also likes to pick up daddy long-legs spiders. I was a lot braver than I am now. Now any kind of bug either grosses me out or scares me, lol. However...I suppose if I saw one of those caterpillars again, I might try to pick one up. Maybe I could summon up some of the old tom-boy in me. :)

  • I played with worms all the time. I loved worms but hated snakes hah. I'll still touch them today or go fishing and put them on the hook.. My brothers and I used to hunt salamanders too :)We loved those!!!

  • I was SO afraid of spiders, bees, wasps, ants, and all the ugly, creepy bugs! Just looking at them gave me the heeby-jeebiees. (WTF?! Did I jusy say heeby-jeebies?)

But this day, I only like butterflies, caterpillars, ladybugs, and rollie pollies. I used to look under rocks for rollies & I liked how they'd curl up b/c they were scared. They're so cute. I also liked fuzzy caterpillars. And who doesn't like ladybugs?! They're so pretty & have even inspired fashion & accessories.

  • Ants, bees, worms, frogs, toads, butterflies, moths, ladybugs, fireflies, June bugs, grass hoppers, crickets, catepillars......I was not afraid of anything until...................

I turned fourteen and got stung by a yellow jacket and almost died of an allergic reaction, then moved to the south and discovered I am allergic to fire ants.

Now as an adult I only like butterflies and fireflies.

  • rollie pollies, lady bugs, catterpillars, ants, june bugs (love the way their feet get stuck on stuff, used to torture my younger sis w/them) and fireflies.
as an adult, i don't mind bugs as long as they aren't in the house and they aren't bees or wasps or big spiders

  • Loved Lady Bugs and Lightning Bugs. I even used to pick up they freak me out, but I still love Lady Bugs and Lightning Bugs. I don't adore spiders and crickets really creep me out...oh and those nasty centipeds. I loved finding those great fuzzy caterpillars...we called them fuzzy wooley bears I don't know why, but they are brown and black and fuzzy, really cute. I have two boys 2 and 3, so I am sure I am in for a ton of "hey mom, look what I found!" Lord help me!

  • I used to play with rollie-pollies (sp?). My friends and I would always look for them under rocks and on the sidewalk. I used to play with worms too! Now the only bugs I'm really afraid of are spiders, bees, and those pincher bugs. Oh and its weird...I won't touch any bug if it is dead already. If its still alive I could care less.
