Has anyone had problems switching their baby from breastmilk to cows milk?

My daughter would never take formula. will the transition to cows milk be difficult. how did you accomplish the transition?

  • My son did take one formula bottle a day and he switched to cows milk fine at a year. But he only drank it for a couple of months. Now he refuses milk all the time. I do think he prefers breast milk to cows milk.

  • I breastfed my DD for 15 months. She will be 3 in August and STILL refuses cow's milk. I give her cheese and yogurt for calcium.

  • You should join the breastfeeding group they can help you alot with BFing info, check out my groups I'm in tons of them.

    As far as milk, many BF babies won't take cows milk straight away...remember as long as you nurse 3 times a day no other calcium is needed, thats why she'd need milk. Theres also rice milk, almond milk, hemp milk, and cheese, yogurt, and leafy greens that have calcium, even orange juice has added calcium and Vit D if you get the kids kind.
