What's the difference between Dietary fiber and Soluble fiber?

My bran cereal says it has 14 grams of Dietary fiber and 1 gram of Soluble fiber.Which one helps flush out toxins,fat and chlesterol also.

  • soluble fiber is part of dietary fiber. Insoluble fiber (the rest of the fiber other than soluble) is what helps keeps a person regular, to put it in polite terms. Soluble fiber is the kind that binds with fats and helps pull down cholesterol.

  • Thanks.Why do you think there is so much Dietary fiber and only 1 gram of Soluble,it kinda makes me think they are ripping me off some how.
