She ATE lettuce for the first time, there's Hope moms!

My daughter who's 7 has had her first small baby leaf of lettuce and she liked it.I use red leaf lettuce and it has small thin leaves, perfect for kids, great crunchy snack if you can get em to eat it.I just put them on her dinner plate and she said.eew but then I said,it's good,I eat it and we sat at the table eating it together. So far my daughter will eat steamed brocollli, carots, corn, celery, peas, canned green beans, and now lettuce. What does yours eat?I forgot baked yams, sweet potatos, and potatos.

  • My kids will eat almost any fruit and veggie. My son even likes brussel sprouts. My 9yo asks me every day if she can have a salad. All of my kids eat salads and have since they were toddlers/preschool age.
My kids eat: broccoli, cauliflower, carrots (cooked or raw), peas, green beans, asparagus (one of their faves), corn, zucchini, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lettuce, tomatoes (especially my 3yo...she loves them), cucumbers, olives (black and green), onions, green onions, green peppers. The only one they don't like is lima beans but they will eat them if they are mixed with something else.

  • I went to the exotic fruit area of the grocery store today and told my 5 year old to pick out one to try, I steered him towards Kiwi. He LOVED it and ate a whole one that I cut up....lol

He is a GREAT eater, loves raw carrots, pickles, cucumbers, plain lettuce, he will give pretty much anything a try at least....usually he likes it....

  • I never thought to give her lettuce before, I just assumed it was too prickly, slimy, wet, well sometimes I don't dry mine throughly but better if I give it to her.I sometimes slack off giving her vegetables because I don't want to put up with a fight.

  • My boys eat broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, apples, spinach (the leafy kind, not the canned) bell peppers, squash, corn, yams and my oldest, since he was a little guy has loved lettuce but he calls it "salad". I always thought he wanted an actual salad but he was asking for lettuce.

  • My daughter just recently started eating mixed salads. I just got tired of asking her what veggies she would like everytime we ate, so decided to make a salad, and see what happened. I mix lettuce, corn, cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, peas. Told her to just pick out the things that she wanted, and leave the rest, but she ended up trying some of the things and now she will actually sit down and eat a salad!
