how do i get paint off of wood floors?

we painted over the weekend and tracked some paint onto our wood floors. what can i use to get it off?

  • If you have finished floors and the paint was water based you can take a plastic or nylon scraper and scrape it up. I would test a non noticable spot to make sure you didn't dent or scrap the wood flooring.

  • Scrape up with a drywall mud scraper... White vinigar can be a big help. If you have unfinished floor or just a clear finish, use nail polish remover (you can always clear glaze small spots). I just had about a two foot wide area that I spilled wax (not candle wax, body wax.) It was HORRIBLE! Good luck!
