will this cause infection?

I keep seeing that women are suggesting massaging down there using olive old and/or lotion to prevent tearing...my question is, won't using olive oil or lotion in or near the vagina cause infection?

  • No - only bacteria causes infection. Use KY jelly or other lubricant if you are worried but olive oil is very safe and I'd only worry about the scents and dyes in lotion. Alos make sure you have very clean hands and that your nails are smooth to avoid scratches.
