my baby wants to walk but...

My 11 months old baby wants to walk but he likes to stand up by himself for seconds, and them he tries his first steps, but sometimes he tries with his toes and others with the whole foot, is that normal? better for him barefoot or with shoes? any problem when he tries with his toes first? thank you

  • Without shoes for the first step and learning they will have better balance.

  • Barefoot is better for babies learning to walk, unless of course they're outside. Many of them start walking on their toes, and it's perfectly normal.

  • Barefoot is abesolutely better, and the only shoes he SHOULD be wearing are soft soled shoes like Pedipeds, Robees, Isabooties (vegan), or Target has mini-star or something like that.

    Your babe needs ot be able to form natural arches, not have them formed by shoes.

    11 months and standing/trying to walk is great. Give him some time, and he'll do it :) You can hold his hands and help him walk.
