Does anyone have a 15 month old who drinks constantly throughout the day?

She seems to be fine mostly and has plenty of peepee diapers? just making sure this is normal?

  • I believe it is, but what are you giving her to drink? Juices that are high in sugar will only make her want to drink more. Since my son could crawl he's kept a cup all throughout the day. If we leave for 15 minutes, I take his cup. We get thirsty throughout the day, so I'm sure our children do too. I wouldn't worry too much, but if you're seriously concerned ask a health professional

  • Just as long as she is getting enough solid food it should be fine. Sometimes when kids drink a lot, they don't get enough nutrition because they are not eating enough.

  • I agree with Nathskitten. It's okay to give her lots of fluids (perferably water) as long as she is eatiner her food.

  • my son is 14 months old and always hands me his sippy to fll it up (not exactly...:always", but a lot!). I usually always give him water or milk (he gets 3 cups of milk a day). as the others wrote, as long as it isnt sugary stuff, and as long as she is eating well throughout the day i wouldnt worry! I dont know about you, but we are in S. Ga and it is hot and muggy this time of year. He isnt outside a lot because of this, but when we are he is all about quenching his thirst throughout the day if we are out and about!

  • I'm right there with u! My 14m. old LOVES her bottle (she drinks milk, not formula) !!! She has about eight 8oz. bottles a day !! She screams for a bottle if it goes empty! She doesn't eat much solid food, less than her hand full a day. I try and try to give her anything she can chew!  She barely uses the sippy cup w/juice (but we r working on it). It's perfectly normal (so her Doc says). He tells me that she can continue like this untill 2 yrs old and be perfectly heathy. But he also reasures me her eating habits should improve. She'll eat things like mushrooms, most veggies, and fish. But she won't eat things like chicken, pastas,& potatoes. Her doc says to just keep feeding her till she eats! I guess i'll "just keep swimming, just keep swimming!"

  • As long as its water it isn't a problem, to much milk or juice can affect how they eat so i would just give water. My son loves water, he drinks it all day long.
