Can a women get pregnant 9 weeks after giving birth?

I had my daughter 9 weeks ago I am breastfeeding and my husband and I had sex yesterday and the condom broke.

  • It isn't likely if you are EBF but if you have sex it is possible. Sperm don't have calendars. Good luck hon.

  • It's not likely if you are breastfeeding but it is not impossible. Have you started your period yet? I'd take a test in about 3-4 weeks but don't worry too much you are probably fine!

    Some people get pregnant two weeks after they give birth.

  • My sister got pregnant 8 weeks after her first baby. She ended losing it because her body wasn't ready to hold another baby yet.

  • If you are exclusive with the breast feeding it's quite unlikely. But if you're not then anything can happen.

  • It is not that unlikely. If it was there would not be very many babies 10-12 months apart.
