  • Well V8 is good, but Crystal light has Aspertame which isn't great, but not bad as long as its in moderation, but i wouldnt give it to children. But for adults it not horrible.

Juicy Juice is good for kids, but of course water and milk are best. However, I think kids need a bit of variety. V8 and V8 Splash are good for them too.

  • Juice isn't bad as long as it is 100% juice. That would be better than Crystal Light which is full of chemical. And juice is no different than V8.

  • V8 IS juice. Crystal light is glorified Koolaid.

There is no need for anything other than water. Just water is an option. Just water and milk is an option. THere is no need for anything other than water.

  • We bought a juicer at our neighborhood junk shop for five bucks. We throw in apples and carrots and celery, then thin it with water - the baby loves it and we don't have to worry about preservatives. You can pretty much juice anything with it, including grapes and cantelope or strawberries. When he gets a little older we're going to try and make popsicles with it. Just make sure to brush their teeth when they're done drinking (we just use water right now because he's not quite 1 year old).

  • i dont know why in the world mothers think it is better to give their children diet drinks and ones loaded with chemicals than just some plain juice!!! its ridiculous.. aspartame is known to cause brain anursims in adults.. so why give it to your children? yes they dont NEED juice, but a little variety is good for them.. just do it in moderation, also V8splash isnt 100%vuice, its like 10-30-5 juice... V8 fusion is 100% juice, but still juice,,,, if your that concerned then dont give it.... why make things harder?

  • Water! You can liven it up with slices of fruits or vegetables; make ice cubes from juice, make ice cubes with blueberry "eyeballs"

Juices like V-8 are loaded with pesticides, including DDT. Yes, DDT is banned in the US, but not banned in other countries - countries that export produce to the US. Here is a guide to pesticides in produce: http://www.foodnews.org/EWG-shoppers-guide-download-final.pdf

  • 100% juice is not bad. Do you give your kid apples? Applesauce? Grapes? 100% juice is good enough to count as 1 serving of fruit. "Juice drinks" are junk. But 100% juice is a good option.

And remember that your kids have much higher calorie needs than you. They simply can not live on diet foods. And remember that every fake sugar out there has side effects, including a cancer risk. Sugar is at least natural and is a decent fuel source for their growing bodies.
