My son was diagnosed with scarlet fever and he is only 21 months old. I am very concerned...

  • my ds was 21 months wne he got it as well, it comes along with strep throat.. as long as he is being treated than he is fine!! dotn worry! its rare now adays put children still get it

  • The days when Helen Keller was a baby are long past.
    He'll be fine. Scarlet Fever is really just strep throat that also has a rash. It's simply a bacterial infection. Make sure he takes all of his antibiotics exactly as prescribed and for as long as prescribed. Don't stop giving them too him because "it's a hassle" or "he seems better now". Finish them all. Follow all the other instructions your doctor has given you.

    Be sure you get your rest and take care of yourself too. Eat and drink enough. Try to sleep when you can. Having a sick little one is tough. Take care of yourself so you are ready to go when he bounces out of bed and wants to play.
