  • Andrew Jackson - once you get past the whole Trail of Tears fiasco, he was quite the leader. He expanded the size of the country, and he actually balanced the budget. He didn't balance it by reamortizing loans, deferring payments or fuzzy math. The budget was balanced and we had money in the bank. And he did this and purchased land to boot. He truly didn't care what the opposition said about him. He was there to serve the people and not the Congress. He did the hard tasks and did them well.

  • well I don't know about in history, but in MY lifetime, I would have to say Clinton. Even though he cheated on his wife, he was a great leader && made many positive changes to this country. Personally, I don't think his "personal matters" should have been a factor in whether or not he was a good president. JMO

  • Ronald Reagan--since I wasn't alive when Lincoln was President!!! lol

  • Because he was president at one of the most important times in our history. He made the decision to drop two bombs on Japan and ending the war. He set the foundation for the fight against communism and the restoration of Europe. And he did not play the blame game. He put the sign on his desk that said "the buck stops here" And he meant it.

  • I have two. Lincoln of course because of what he did and what he wanted to do for this country and Bill Clinton. Unemployment was down and so was welfare when he was in office. So he cheated on his wife which president didn't other than the Bushes.
