HOW MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE IS SWIMMING THEN WALKING?

I WALK 1.5 MILES A DAY HOW MANY LAPS SHOULD I DO IN A 44 FT LONG POOL TO GET AT LEAST THAT EFFECTIVE OF A WORKOUT?

  • I'm not exactly sure but I know that 30 min. walking in the pool is equal to 2 hours on land.

  • It's quite a bit more effective. Don't know the stats, but it's significant!

  • Swimming is nothing like walking.  Swimming is not a weight bearing exercise, you get a cardio/toning workout vs. just plain toning workout.  If you're looking for an idea of what you're burning calorie-wise, HERE is a list.
