What does it mean when.....

....when an old co-worker acts as if they don't even know you? Why do women have to be so rude to one another on the streets, but yet get them in the professional setting where they both work together as team members and colleagues and it is almost like you're all some sort of great friends or something?

  • Perhaps she was thinking about something else and didn't recognize you? Or perhaps she behaved in a cordial manner at work since it was expected but never felt that you were friends? But in this case you'd think she'd behave as cordially on the street, too.

  • I'm always happy to see old co-workers...if we got along in the first place!

Could be the person(s) you're referring to are embarrassed about their current career status and hope to avoid any questions by pretending they don't know you.

I think the reason many women act like they are great friends in a professional setting is simply a matter of "Smiling Faces."
