How would you dicipline your daughter in this situation?

How is a dad supposed to dicipline his daughter if she lives with her mom?

Mom and dad have different points of view...she is very leineit with her and he is a tad strict...of course teens go with who ever is cool.

It is sooo hard in our situation we are so concerned. we ask her questions and she says she doesn't know or she is not sure yet...Oh my god it makes us wonder what the heck is the mom doing in her part as a parent (Just go ahead daughter do whatever just be careful and don't be home too late) that is not the way it would be if she lived with us...:(

  • I also have a 13 yr old step daughter, we always wonder what the hell is her mother doing? Its so hard sometimes but getting worked up does no good. I've been the one trying to get through and it only works 25% of the time, if its an issue she knows deep down she is wrong about. We also live very far away from the girls, (little sis is 11). The girls fight alot more verbal than phsical, there has been a bloody lip recently. They are a mess and we are in the process of trying to talk to their mom, but we have to really watch how we talk to her. She always manages to blame DH for her and the girls ' Issues. Maybe you could write a letter to both of them, mom and daughter letting her know how you feel about the lack of discipline going on, maybe she will be relieved because she may not know how to handle herself and may want the extra help. Good luck, you have all my symapthy.

  • When she does something wrong at your house, you punish her as you see fit. If she is at her mothers house, there really isn't much you can do.
