My son just turned 1 on June 2oth should I worry cause he doesnt walk yet?

He takes 2 steps and ploops down on his butt- I hole out my hands and the minute I let go down he goes- my hubby is worried- I think hes just scarred- we have pushing/riding toys he holds onto them and walk while holding on- but the minute he lets go down he goes and he starts crawling. What age should I be worried if he doesnt start to walk?

  • Some babies don't walk until they're 15 months old. I think he's fine. Just wait it out, he will walk when he is ready.

  • My oldest did that too. He didn't take real steps until 15 months. I wouldn't worry every baby is different.

  • My third child didn't walk on his own until 15 months which is still well within the "normal" range..

  • my daughter turned one on the 25th. she's not totally walking yet, but is taking steps. she has been crawling since 7months and prefers that to get around because she can crawl faster than i can walk. she has to 'think' about walking and work at it, crawling is easier for her. your son could just be like that. our pedi asked at her 12 month check up if she was walking yet, but he didn't show any concern that she wasn't totally walking yet. i honestly don't think they start getting concerned untill like 18 months. all kids are different. some kids take longer if there's older kids around because they're either getting knocked down or they have no reason to walk because the older kids 'wait' on them.
