What is the breakdown for a Wedding Ceremony/Reception Costs?

I know there is usually a deposit. Must you pay the full amount at the time of the wedding or can you make payments?

  • It really depends on so much. Some places expect full payment before, some half, some a little here a little there. Best to call around and find out what different places expect to find what you are looking for.

  • Usually deposits are paid at the time reservations are made. Most things will need to be paid BEFORE the ceremony. A few things are due immediately bar bills and things like that.

  • This is why reservations are done well ahead of time so you can make the payments. Reservations won't be confirmed without a deposit and then you can set up a payment plan but all want to be paid before the wedding except whoever is officiating and he/she usually gets paid the day of the wedding unless otherwise specified but you can ask when you set the date. This is why a wedding calendar is vital.

  • That depends on the place. Most places you put down a deposit and you can make payments. That is what my mom did for her wedding. But you would have to talk to all the places and see what their policy is on payment plans. They might say it has to be paid by the ceremony or there are some places that let you keep paying after its all over.
