How do I get yucky cigarette smell out of a wooden crib I bought?

I bought a used crib from someone, I was unaware that they smoked and I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of, fabreeze, lemon pinesol, leaving all the windows open to air it out, etc. nothing is working. my son is sleeping in his pack-n-play until I can get rid of the smell. HELP

  • My Suggestion is buy a NEW Crib! You will not be able to get that smell out of the crib. Plus you should never trust buying used baby stuff such as Cribs, you never know if it has been recalled or anything. Good Luck.

  • I would try wood cleaners. I know hardware stores carry them. but a cheaper way may be homemeade.

  • I'd use bleach on it and then do what the PP said and put it out in the sun. Good Luck I know how awful that smell is.

  • Wrap it in newspaper, it absorbs odours and put it out in the sun.
