I hope I reflect Jesus truly. I don't cuss or break the commandments, I try to always act with love and compassion. I confess, however, that I don't wear a cross, just in case I should slip up and allow my essential, fallible humanity to show through in spite of my best intentions. It has become painfully obvious that non-Christians willfully ignore all the good Christians do, all the love they try to show, and focus only on those moments when they fail to be perfect, using them as "proof" that Christianity is full of hypocrites. It is sad that normal human failure should be misconstrued as hypocrisy. On the other hand, I am proud to be a "hypocrite" when it means that I am aspiring to be truly good, according to a demanding and worthy morality. That is far better than being content to live without any morality that pushes me to be better than I naturally am.
