  • I do usually tip about .50 to $1 depending on the amount ordered the service and if they came out on skates that is when I tip the $1. I think if they can work on skates they deserve a little extra.

  • At fast food places like Sonics, tipping is generally not expected, but I would advise tipping if you have children present. Kids are messy and being paid to clean up after them sucks.

  • never heard of sonics..i know when i used to work at a fast food place, we werent even allowed to accept tips..if we got offered a tip, we could say thanks, but had to put it in the charity/donation boxes we supported..

  • I do because i know when I worked there I was paid less than minimum wage because at that time they were allowed to charge us less because we were technically "waitresses" and could accept tips. Its not like regular fast food. They actually bring the food out to your car for you. So yes, I tip, normally $2-$3 depending on the number of trays they have to carry (we are a family of 5).

  • We don't eat at the drive in- we pull through and take home, so no.

I would feel no shame in calling the local restaurant and asking what is expected, though. It's not like they will know who you are when you get there!

    Just don't call from 12-230, or 5-8.
