when to stop baby food?

my 8 month old eats pretty much everything we do, just mashed up. Is it ok to stop giving him baby food now that he eats table food? BTW he still gets a bottle every 5 hours or so....

  • Baby food is basically just practice for real food so thats fine...and it's a lot easier. My son started refusing to eat anything off a spoon around 9 months. He has to feed himself.

  • If you're tired of it then look to making the switch...3 days of hell, but then it's over and it's like a new habbit for them that they gave up.

  • I would say yes. I don't give my baby 3rd foods anymore. He's 11 months old now, but was eating what we ate mashed up around 9 months or so.

  • We stopped baby food at that age and started with soft table foods... now at 11 months he eats just about everything we do in small chunks
