  • Because they feel like it and they can. Why do you post non-anon?

  • Because they are too embarrassed to post with their name? To avoid insulting messages?

  • Because if you put your opinion out there, and *someone* doesnt like it, or doesnt agree, they then make fun of you. Treat you like scum etc. SO sometimes it is just better to post anon, so no one attacks. It isn't (at least for me) because I don't stand behind my opinion, but rather that I don't want to be drug through the mud because of it.
And interestingly enough, they do their smearing as anon. Those same people who complain that people posting anon are wusses, do it to smear others.

  • Some people might do it because they just want to ask an embarrassing question and want an answer, but don't want to let everyone know who they are. Others just post anon to be mean.

  • I can see posting anon if you have an embarassing ? or reveal something embarassing or private in an answer, but answering anon just to bash is weak and cowardly.

  • I personally only do it if i'm posting/answering a really personal question. I know some post anon because they dont want their answers to be search-able via their SN but I think there are a lot more who do it because they feel its a license to be nasty...IMO those people are cowards.

  • i post anon a lot because if you google your screen name, all your posts come up. i don't want everyone in cyberspace seeing my posts/answers! its not like i'm rude or anything in my replies, i would just prefer not to have all my information out there for everyone to see. thats all.

  • Ah...I didn't think about the whole 'searchable' thing. But then again, no one IRL knows my SN on here, haha.

  • Because sometimes they post ridiculous or rude questions and they are too afriad to show who they are in my opinion!
