so far all have claimed to be Christians. however, historians can prove that some were not as involved as they wanted the country to believe. Andrew Johnson spoke out against Christianity, Jefferson, Lincoln, & Taft are considered Christian Agnostics (believed in God, but had questions on Jesus). Heres a list of them, but some (Polk, Regan, Bush Jr.) changed religions as adults or while in office.

    11 Episcopalian
    6 Presbyterian
    4 Methodists
    4 Baptists (2 Southern)
    4 Unitarians
    3 Disciples of Christ
    2 Dutch Reform
    2 Quakers
    1 Congregationalist
    1 Roman Catholic
    1 United Church of Christ

  • Op, probably wonders if they were PROTESTANT...or "WASPS" (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant), because well, they were all white, from wealthy families (or became wealthy through business and industry), and of the Christian or Catholic faith.

Considering our country was founded by MOSTLY Christian men who escaped ENGLAND which was mostly Christian at the time, it bears to reason that "traditionally" most Presidents were of the Christian/Catholic faith. And that is probably also why Obama tossed his Muslim faith aside in favor of a "Christian" faith, so he could join the "accepted" traditional group. Nothing this man surprises me in his attempt to grab power.
